Love Yourself

What are the first things you notice when you look into the mirror? Is it everything you don’t like about your body or yourself? Does that old saying of “you’re your hardest critic” ring a bell?

The world we live in seems to drill into our minds that we should look like a model if we want to be beautiful or have degrees to be a successful person. In reality neither are true. I’ve known very successful people who don’t have degrees and I see many beautiful people that aren’t even close to being a model.

Society builds these images in our minds as we grow up from infancy. Perhaps this is one of the main reasons people have low self esteem today. The level of stress to be something we’re not becomes a losing daily battle within our lives. The struggle becomes overbearing and soon all we see are the parts of ourselves that we have grown to hate or in some cases even despise.

This amount of pressure can cause anxiety and/or depression for some people. Then with it being ingrained at such an early age, they are clueless why they have these issues.

People should step back and take another look at themselves. This time look into your eyes and search for all the positive things about yourself. Actually look deeply into those unique eyes instead of picking parts of your body to hate. Now start viewing all the little beautiful details that make you who you are today. You’re eyes alone are an amazing piece of art on their own. Each of us are special in our own ways and none of us are perfect. It’s seeing the perfections in the imperfections that we need to focus on. Each of us are unique in our own ways and that’s what makes us individuals.

There are tools and techniques that help people work on themselves and grow. The more you do the better you’ll feel, not only about yourself but the life around you too.

Now working on yourself takes time but in the end, is worth the investment because of the negative baggage that is disposed of when you’re done.

Loving yourself is the first step towards loving life. After all, if you can’t love yourself how are you going to be able to fully love anything or anyone.
