Yoga
This form of exercise is a practice or discipline pertaining to the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the person who participates in it. Yoga is an ancient practice which has a meditative and spiritual core providing more to the practice than being a form of wonderful exercise. Along with the physical postures, breathing techniques and meditations, yoga provides numerous benefits to its students such as;
- Reduces stress levels
- Improves sleep
- Relieves pain and stiffness
- Improves mental awareness
- Decreases anxiety and depression
- Improves concentration
- Relieves menopause symptoms
- Improves balance
- Strengthens muscles
- Improves flexibility
- Helps weight control
- Improves overall well-being
Yoga has grown throughout the world and is recommended by doctors and specialists all over, even right here in this community. The improvement this practice provides is only limited by the person utilizing it. Yoga can be taken as far as the student wants to go. Providing a healthy balance in the users’ life and well-being, yoga can transform a person’s life and body into a healthy one by engaging inner peace, self-awareness, and acceptance, without judgement.
Starting the practice is the first step and with each class there’ll be improving mobility and strength along with many other things. The goal is to fine a class that resonates with you and begin. There are many types of yoga classes out there, with many different styles of instructors. So, try a few, until you find one that feels right for you. It’s easier than you think and the rewards are great too!
Most places are now providing online classes and/or outdoor classes due to the pandemic. Here at Healing Feather Wellness, we’re doing both. Outdoors when weather is permitting and also live online through Zoom for our students that are farther away and on those rainy days. We’re looking forward to reopening our studio as soon as things settle down and we’re able to do so. But until then, it’s wonderful outdoors and zooming will keep us all moving through the winter and the pandemic for now.
So, start looking for a yoga class and an instructor to help you get moving forward to a healthier you!
